Default New to this site, have questions..

Hi, i was diagnosed with PCOS about 15 yrs ago. I cant loose weight, have tried Metformin, and can not tolerate it, so my Dr took me off of it and put me on Yasmin. He called today and told me that I will be diabetic within a yr if something doesnt change. Is there anything I can take to help with this? He is pushing for Gastic bypass surgery, which scares me to death. I am desperate. I have been intersted in the product this site offers, but am not working, so $100 is alot to spend on something that may or may not help. If it will help me, I am more that happy to pay it. My concern is since I have a low tolerance to the Metformin, I may not do well on this. (I do hope this the correct place to post this question). Im also NOT a sweet eater. Actually dont care for them much at all.

Any advice is much appreciated. I want my life back. I want to be here for my kids.

Thank you so much.

Dear Chellenunley,

Thank you for writing into Insulite Labs; I’m glad you found our website!

Sorry to read you are struggling. It is very hard to lose weight once you have put it on, as you are finding, and even harder when PCOS is involved. Metformin can at times be helpful. If it is causing you diarrhea, you might benefit from using the extended release form. Also, unfortunately, although birth control pills a first-line therapy for PCOS, they can actually aggravate insulin resistance.

You did not mention if you exercise, or how you eat. Exercise is quite key in getting insulin resistance and pre-diabetes under control, and so is eating a diet focused on unrefined carbs, lean protein, healthy fats, and eating 3 times a day.

Gastric bypass does not have to be a terrible thing. Also, you could talk to your doctor about a lapband instead of the bypass. I would say if you can get your insurance company to pay for it then to go for it, honestly. If you go ahead and make lifestyle changes on top of it, as you will be expected to do, you can have great success in getting your life and weight under control.

I believe there are a few promotionals on the website making the systems more affordable for people since everyone is so cash strapped right now. Here is a link to the website: http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/. Go ahead and check out the promo even if it says it is expiring, I'm sure we could help you out.

I hope this is helpful. Feel free to write about with any more questions or concerns that you might have.
