Default Beginning Insulite, Question about exercise.

I just got my first shipment of insulite in the mail and I am very excited to get started. One of my biggest questions is about exercise. I am a member of curves. I love it because only women can go there and I feel more comfortable in that type of setting. Curves consists of 30 minute workouts, combining strength training and cardio, and thanks to the Smart workout, the resistance on their machines is designed for each individual, and the machines continue to monitor your progress and provide extra resistance as you get stronger. Do you think that Curves is an appropriate means of exercise? Also, I've read before that exercising too much can decrease chances of fertility. How often should I be working out?

    Hello Amolynn35,

Thank you for writing in. I am glad that you have chosen to use the PCOS System.

I do think that Curves is appropriate. What is great, is that you like it and you are comfortable in the setting and this then keeps you motivated and consistent. It is also great that as you get stronger the resistance increases as this will be important. You never want exercise to be easy. You want to feel that you need to push a little, breath a bit harder. If it is too easy you are certainly getting stronger but your body isn't working as hard.

So, keep it up. You should be exercising 4-6 times a week. If a woman is very thin and working out rigorously for a few hours a day, this is likely too much and can cause periods to stop. We see this in athletes, more commonly.

Please let me know if I can help further. We will be looking forward to hearing from you.

    Question Question about nutrition lable

I'm going to be starting the insulite system this weekend, and I read somewhere yesterday that the total number of carbs in an item would be Total Carbs, minus total Dietary Fiber. Is this the correct way to calculate how many carbs are in an item?

Hello and thanks for writing in. I am glad that you will be starting the System soon.

When counting the carbohydrates, you will be using total carbohydrates not net carbs. Net carbs subtracts the grams of fiber. We do not do this. We use total carbohydrates, from all food sources.

I hope that this helps. Please let me know how you are doing and how I can help.
