Default A Wid Blue/Gray Ring Around My Eyes

    Hi Dr. Shana

I’m concerned about something I’ve noticed with my eyes. - I hope I have this right - When a diabetic has a high level of sugar and it has been at that level for a while their eyes get a gray/white ring around them. If I have it right – then I’m concerned about my eyes because on the fifth day of my first month’s treatment I got a wide blue/gray ring around my eyes. It stayed that way the whole day and then each day after it became smaller in width and gray/white in color. Today it’s hardly noticeable but I’m still concerned. I started thinking I was having some kind of opposite reaction on the treatment with my insulin level. Please help me understand what I’m seeing around my eyes and if it will clear away.

    Please Help

    Thank You

    Hi Nana,
I'll respond to your post about hair growth on the previous thread where we've been communicating. Perhaps Dr. Heather or one of the other Insulite docs will chime in here, but if I'm understanding you correctly, you are noticing a gray ring around your iris- right? Around the colored part inside your eye, not a ring of blue/gray around your entire eye (on your face)? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not an ophthalmologist but my understanding is this is often normal and hereditary. Do any of your relatives have this? It may also happen if cholesterol levels are too high. I suggest that along with the hormone testing I referred to in our other conversation thread, you get a fasting blood glucose along with a total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides, and HDL (these are also fasting blood tests).
If the blue/gray ring is actually around your eyes, a discoloration on your skin above and below your eyes, this could be allergies ("allergic shiners") or indicate the need to detox, or simply fatigue.
    I hope this helps!

Yes - my mistake - I did mean the iris. I don't have family members with it so I'll go get the tests and report back

    I Appreciate You

    Hello Bolinia,

Thank you for writing in. How long have you been using the PCOS System?

I am not sure the dark circles are related to using the PCOS System. If you can provide more information on this and when it started, after using the System, etc. that would be great. But some women have dark circles due to fatigue and not getting adequate sleep. Allergies are another reason that these can happen. There are others and it is important to determine the cause to understand how to address.

I look forward to hearing from you.
