    Default Prescription diuretics, Safe?

Are there any concerns I need to know about with prescription diuretics? What do these type of meds do to the body?

I ask my doc for one due to the fact that when I am on my cycle, I tend to gain like at least ten pounds of water weight. I mean I have to wear different clothes, like a bra thats two sizes bigger. I can't wear my wedding ring, and most of the weight is in my face and stomach. I just blow up.

The one med the doc put me on is called, Spironolactone. he said it would also help with my facial hair issue.

    Hello Chrissygal,

Yes, you can use spironolactone along with the PCOS System. Just be sure to take it about 3-4 hours away from the GlucX fiber supplement.

Let me know how you are doing.

    Hello OmarConner,

Does your wife have PCOS? It sounds like either way she has hormonal imbalances. Taking the diuretic could help her feel better while she is on this drug but once it is discontinued her symptoms will likely return. We recommend treating the underlying cause of her bloating and hormonal imbalances. If she does have PCOS she should consider trying the Insulite PCOS System.
