Hi Dr. Heather,

I have been on the pills for two weeks and of course I am anxious to see changes, primarily in weight loss. I have been following a low glycemic diet for the past 2 years. At this point, I have not seen any decrease in weight since starting the pills, but I wanted to review what I have been doing so you could tell me I need to change.

breakfast - protein smoothie recipe from the book (is it ok for me to have one every day, they are delicious?)
snack - cottage cheese (1/2 cup)
lunch - chicken breast, edamame
snack - almonds/walnuts (1/4 cup)
dinner - spinach salad w/ 14/c cheese, tbsp dressing, 4 oz protein
64 + oz water daily
1-2 cups coffee per day with 3 tsp. organic vanilla cream

workout 5 days a week doing p90x workouts

I have not stuck to the program 100%, but have been trying to stay as close to this as possible. Is there an average time that people usually see changes? Also, I have noticed to have evening cravings, any suggestions how to help with that. I have tried drinking water adn waiting it out, but usually seem to lose and go for a low glycemic snack, but didn't know if this was harming my attempts at weight loss.

Sorry for the long message. Thank you for your time.

Hello,

I would be happy to help. That is what I am here for.

Your diet looks good and i like that you are eating regularly and often.

A couple of suggestions, try to have some cut up celery, peppers or another vegetable with your morning snack and with lunch. Edamame is a high protein snack but just keep an eye on the carbs per serving.

I also recommend as you may have seen on the forum, for women to use www.fitday.com to get an idea of the total amount of carbs you are eating a day. This will give you an idea and areas that we can continue to work on as you progress on the System. We do recommend also choosing lower glycemic index foods but you will also want to be sure that your reduce the overall carbohydrate index.

In addition, two weeks is a very short time and you may not see weight loss just yet. Every woman is different in the time they will start to respond. But you are doing well with your choices and exercise program.

Try to be as consistent as possible with the supplements to help with cravings and have healthy snacks on hand, or take a walk, drink a glass of water and wait 15 minutes. Often thirst can be mistaken for hunger, so be sure that you are drinking enough water.

Keep it up, if you don's start seeing/feeling changes in the next couple weeks, we can look more closely at what may be impacting this.

I will be looking forward to hearing from you and please let me know how I can help in the meantime.
