I have had PCOS for over 30 years. My doctor placed me on Maxzide to help control my high BP. I am not sure if I like the way it makes me feel and I do not know if it is (a) not appropriate for my PCOS (b) if that is just the way the medicine works or (c) I shouldn't take it with my vitamins and supplements. I experience headaches, feel faint and dizzy at times and feel like I want to pass out, but thankfully have not. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.

Sorry to read that you have dealt with PCOS for so long. Have you been able to manage it well? The first question that comes to my mind is, did you try any other meds first? Maxide isn't usually a first choice. Second, how long have you been on Maxide. Unfortunately, there is an adjustment period to some meds. However, if you've been feeling for more than 3 days or so, or if you really feel like you're in danger of falling, then it's obviously not a good drug choice for you. If you feel poorly on Maxide, and continue to, then I would suggest that you ask to get off of it. How high is your blood pressure?

Have you done other things to deal with your hypertension< Do you exercise, have you worked on your diet? Have you worked on how you respond to stress if you do indeed have a stressful life? These elements can be really helpful.

Lots of questions I have posed. Feel free to write again and we'll discuss your issues further.

Best Wishes,

Do you have any other issues such as pre-diabetes, or are you overweight?
