I went to the Dr. on 12/16, where he gave me my script for met and told me to take any sign of bleeding as day one and to start my clomiphene on day 5-9. So I took one 1000 mg on the 16th and the next day I started my period! So I took the clomiphene like I was suppose to. After that I have been regularly taking 2000mg a day. My period lasted about 7 days. Around what would have been day 5 after what would have been last day of possible ovulation I spotted for a day of light pink and one red drop, only noticeable when I wiped (tmi). Last week I thought af was coming soon because my stomach felt like cramps without the pain. Well if I am on a 28 day cycle I should have started on the 14th, and if I am on a 30 day cycle then I should have started yesterday. But I haven't started yet, and I don't feel any different that any other day, like af is no where in sight. I took one test 2 days ago and it was negative. I am going to wait and test in a week and then if nothing, I am going to call Dr. But I am just confused because I went from spotting all the time 2 months before going to dr., to having somewhat normal period, to nothing now!! Any help would be appreciated!!!

Dear Erica,
Thank you for contacting us! It is not unusual for the menstrual cycle to have a few "hiccups" of irregularity here and there. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS? With PCOS, it is not uncommon to have irregular or absent cycles. Also, even women who don't have PCOS occasionally have very late periods or even skip a month if they are under a lot of stress or exercising too much or on extremely low calorie diets (anorexia).
I do think it's a good idea to call your doctor if your menses doesn't come this month.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon, Erica.
