hi, i was recently diagnosed with PCOS, i'm 27 and i decided i wanted to start taking multivitamins. i managed to pick up some centrum ultra womens multivitamins today. presently i have my monthlys on a fairly regularly basis, a bit painful but regular enough. i was put on metaformin by my doctor, but i rarely take them, i like my chances to become pregnant remain as great as possible. my question, would taking the centrum multivitamins have an effect on my body? (w.r.t weight gain, my monthlys, or any associated side effects?) all help will be thankful!

Hi there!
Thanks so much for your question. Taking Centrum shouldn't cause any side effects. However, I recommend taking a multi-vitamin from a health food store as opposed to Centrum. Centrum contains some unnecessary chemicals and generally is not absorbed well.

I would have to agree that a multivitamin would be a good idea. It can only help your body. However, I've heard terrible things about the Centrum brand. In addition to chemicals it might contain, it's generally not absorbed well, if at all. Definitely go with a good quality multi when choosing one. I love the Women's One (http://www.seacoastvitamins.com/supplement/rainbow-light-women-s-one-multi-90-tablets-2733) by Rainbow Light. The Rainbow Light brand makes all food based vitamins, as opposed to synthetic ones. These are more easily absorbed by the body, and the vitamins and minerals more readily used. I also like that you only have to take one pill per day day, as opposed to many of the other good quality vitamins which require a serving of 3-4 pills.
