Hello,
I just bought a 3 month supply of the system. I've been on them for about 8 or 9 days. I noticed around day 3 that I woke up feeling really energized. Several days ago I started feeling tired again but I think that may be related to stress from recent family stuff and there's a slight possibility I may be pregnant though it's not likely. I'm gonna do a pregnancy test tomorrow or Saturday to make sure I'm not pregnant because I know I can't use the system while pregnant.
Anway I'm pleased to say that since starting the system I've lost 7lbs without much modification to my diet. Yesterday even though I felt tired I started to do some light stretching and excersize to re-energize, that felt good to do instead of laying down and trying to take a nap like I usually do.
Anyway I had some questions to make sure I'm doing things right and what I can be doing better.
First I want to make sure I'm taking the system correctly. I take 2 caps of the Rejuvenx and 2 caps of Insulx with breakfast; 2 caps of PCOS+ and 3 caps of the Glucx with water a couple hours later; then I repeat at lunch and an hour or so before dinner time.
From that schedule have I been taking them correctly?
Also being that I'm having a difficult time with adjusting my diet to begin a gradual restriction on bad carbs, would it be ok for me to drink a Glucerna shake here and there?
I'm not diabetic but being that I have PCOS and the insulin resistince that comes with it would it be an alright idea to use the Glucerna shakes as a nutritional suppliment when I'm on the go so I don't have to worry about skipping out on lunch or breakfast?
Also I noticed that I went from having 1 regular bowl movement a day to having 3 or 4 regular bowl movements a day, is this normal and is it a fairly good sign that my bodies metabolic system is working a little more efficiently?
I have had some stomach aches here and there which is new for me as well.
Also is it alright if I continue taking my Fish Oils and Calcium with D added? I'm only 23 but Osteoporosis runs in my family so I'm pretty big on taking Calcium suppliments.
I think that's all I have to ask for now. Overall I'm very optimistic and excited about this system and I think it's wonderful that there's a online forum where I can interact with other ladies on the system and the Dr.s who've developed it. Thank you so much for giving me hope and offering a natural and effective alternative to conventional medicine which has failed me in the past.
In advance thank you for your time and suggestions.
UPDATE:
5/28/2010
I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. Still feeling a bit tired but I also have some energy. Fatigue is most likely related from stress as there's been problems with my family and work. Will try to get some more exercise today and try some relaxation techniques.

Hello and thanks for writing in! I did get your email as well but will
repost some of the information here in case others have the same questions
and address your additional concerns, as well.
First, here is a dosing schedule that will help. There is a change:
- 1/2 hour before breakfast: PCOS + - 2 caps
- With breakfast: InsulX - 2 caps and RejuvenX - 2 caps
- Between breakfast and lunch: GlucX - 3 caps
- With Lunch: InsulX - 2 caps and RejuvenX - 2 caps
- Between lunch and dinner: PCOS + - 2 caps
- After dinner/before bed: GlucX - 3 caps
If you forget to take any of the supplements with breakfast or lunch, you
can take that dose with dinner.
As for the in between times (between breakfast and lunch and lunch and
dinner), when you are eating a snack, just be sure to take the GlucX and
the PCOS+ away from food by an hour, if possible.
Some of the pills need to be taken without food for a few reasons. The
GlucX should be taken alone because as a high fiber supplement, it could
theoretically interfere with the absorption of other substances taken at
the same time. You wouldn't want to take it with food because it could
impede the absorption of nutrients from the food, and the same with taking
other supplements and medications with the GlucX.
The PCOS+ should be taken away from food because some of the herbs in that
product are better absorbed on an empty stomach. That is just the nature
of its ingredients.
Regarding the shakes, you actually would be better off eating foods such as
veggies and lean protein. The shakes are not low in carbs and actually not
that high in protein, with about 6 grams in the Beneprotein and 10 grams in
the Glucerna. Also, the Glucerna shake has about half of carbohydrates for
the day and the ingredients are not very useful. Boost has about 40 grams of
carbs and again looking at the ingredients is a highly processed drink. The
second and third ingredients are sugar. Ultimately these are the things we
are trying to decrease.
Foods that are cheaper can include eggs, hard boiled for snacks or on salads
and chicken, turkey and other lean cut meats. You can use almonds, walnuts
in yogurt (low fat plain), cut up veggies with some low fat cream cheese or
nut butter. Also, when you are cooking for others, it is not easy but I
often recommend to make extra veggies and skip the carb portion of the meal,
grains, potatoes, corn, etc. You can use frozen vegetables as well, these
tend to last longer and may be cheaper as you can buy larger amounts at one
time.
If you want to use a whey protein shake you should be able to get a high
quality whey protein that you can use as a base for shakes or smoothies
(with yogurt and some nut butter or fruit). Many will have about 15-20 grams
of protein per serving.
Www.fitday.com <http://Www.fitday.com> is also useful to keep track of your
carb intake. This will allow you to enter your food intake and it will
calculate calories, grams of carbs, protein and fat.
When you are on the go, take some nuts with you, take a hard boiled egg, or
a yogurt, or even cut up veggies that you can snack on until you are able to
have some additional food.
The increase in bowel movements is not unusual and beneficial as long as you
are not have excessively loose stools or diarrhea.
You can continue the calcium and vitamin D as well. Just be sure that you
take them away from the GlucX supplement.
I want to be sure that I am addressing your concerns, so please let me know
if this is useful or if there are other suggestions I may be able to add.
I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello again,
First, yes you can continue using calcium/vitamin D and fish oil supplements. I would just be sure that you are taking them away from the GlucX fiber product.
Also, here is a dosing schedule for you as well. There is an adjustment when it comes to taking the GlucX and PCOS+. We prefer that you do not take these together.
If you forget to take any of the supplements with breakfast or lunch, you can take that dose with dinner.
As for the in between times (between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner), when you are eating a snack, just be sure to take the GlucX and the PCOS+ away from food by an hour, if possible.
Some of the pills need to be taken without food for a few reasons. The GlucX should be taken alone because as a high fiber supplement, it could theoretically interfere with the absorption of other substances taken at the same time. You wouldn't want to take it with food because it could impede the absorption of nutrients from the food, and the same with taking other supplements and medications with the GlucX.
The PCOS+ should be taken away from food because some of the herbs in that product are better absorbed on an empty stomach. That is just the nature of its ingredients.
Regarding decreasing carbs, this can be difficult. We want you to gradually decrease your intake. But there are a couple things you can do to understand how much you are eating and how it is affecting your progress. I think it is important to keep a food diary for all food and fluids you eat and then enter it into www.fitday.com. This will break down your food intake into calories, carbs, protein, fats, fiber, etc. You will also see which foods are contributing the highest carbs or the difficult times of day.
Now, once you have this information, I would start with planning the meals you are having a hard time with. Also, do not wait too long to eat. This will only make it easier to choose foods that will not be healing. I would carry snacks in your bag, nuts or nut butter with cut up veggies or apple. You can also have a hard boiled egg. These foods will help get you to the next meal.
The increase in bowel movements is most likely due to the high fiber supplement, GlucX. It should balance out a bit but it is important to be sure that you are drinking adequate water. I recommend that you drink 2-3 liters a day.
Regarding the Glucerna shakes, these are not really a good option. They are pretty high in carbs and having one can contribute about half your days worth of carbs. It is also a refined product. In cases that you are on the run, I would recommend some of what I mentioned above, cut up veggies, nuts, seeds, some fruit, hummus, low fat cream cheese, low fat plain yogurt, throw some left overs in a container, or if you are out and do not have any of these, choose a salad with veggies and maybe chicken/turkey breast with a little olive oil and vinegar.....
I hope that some of these options work for you. Please keep us posted.

Good Morning everyone,
I am interested in purchasing this program but must admit I am skeptical. I am just learning about my PCOS so I am trying to get all the information. Firstly, am I allowed to take other Vitamins with it, such as, Super B-Complex, Multi-Vitamin, Vitamin D or any other Vitamin I wish to take? Also, I am on YAZ and going to my Endicrinologist next week and possibly going on other medication. Will any prescribed medicine interfere with the system that you and your team have created? Is there anything you think that I should know about the system that might help put my mind at ease?
Thank you so much for your help.

Has this been FDA approved?
Hello and thanks for writing in!
The Insulite System products are not FDA approved. Unfortunately, the FDA does not have regulations and standards for nutritional supplements so products that are available at the health food stores are not regulated by the FDA either.
With regard to its safety, the supplements are manufactured using high-quality neutraceuticals (vitamins, minerals and herbs that are disease specific) that can affect metabolic change. Our manufacturer certifies the authenticity of all ingredients in our formulas.
Additionally, research conducted by Insulite Laboratories confirms the safety of this formulation of nutrients. There are no toxicities to any ingredients in any of our formulas.
Insulite Laboratories develops relationships only with reputable suppliers and manufacturers who maintain the highest standards of production and testing to ensure the purity and integrity of the ingredients. All products have a certificate of analysis from their source and each batch is individually tested for microbial limits (when applicable), purity, and heavy metals.
Our manufacturers are a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) company that is fully compliant with the US Federal Drug Administration’s (FDA) regulations.
The FDA has recently released extensive new cGMP laws for dietary supplement manufacturers with a 2010 deadline for full compliance. Our manufacturer is on schedule to meet the new regulations in advance of the “comply by” date. They are inspected by the FDA and local/state health departments on a drop in basis. There have never been any complaints from these agencies.
Certificates of Analysis for the Insulite Systems’ supplements are available
for review by customers. Send your name, email address, supplement name, i.e. GlucX and the Lot numbers stamped on the side of the bottles to info@insulitelabs.com
I hope that this helps. Please let me know if I can help further.

Hello again! I just responded to your other post and hope that it reduces some of your hesitancy about our product.
Here is a great link on our website that tells you about Insulite Laboratories: http://www.pcos.insulitelabs.com/Insulite-Laboratories.php.
Our medical team created the Insulite PCOS System by combining their experience in the field of public health, work with athletes and research in clinical settings with those who are chronically overweight and suffering from PCOS. We recognize the emotional and physical pain that overweight individuals experience due to their inability to lose weight and reverse their conditions.
Studying the biochemical and physiological reasons for weight gain, we developed a full understanding of the implications of the abnormal response of insulin to glucose - insulin resistance - and how this affects weight gain. We discovered there is currently no medically recognized diagnosis or therapy for insulin resistance.
Having successfully advised thousands of Insulin resistant patients, our medical team used their collective experience to develop formulas, an exercise program and a nutritional plan that prevents and reverses insulin resistance, the root cause of PCOS.
In addition, you can continue to use the supplements you mentioned. We just recommend that you take all medications and supplements away from one of the supplements in the PCOS System, the GlucX. GlucX is high in fiber which may theoretically interfere with the absorption of other substances taken at the same time.
In general, we do not recommend oral contraceptives as a treatment for PCOS because they are synthetic hormones that mask some of the symptoms of PCOS rather than fixing the problems. Treating absent menses or other symptoms with oral contraceptives does not treat the underlying disorder of PCOS and when the contraceptives are discontinued, the PCOS symptoms will persist.
Our philosophy is to treat the cause of the disorder so that there is no longer a need for using contraceptives. Of course if you are using birth control to prevent pregnancy, you will need to find an alternate form of contraception (condoms, diaphragm, etc.) if you decide to discontinue the birth control pill! The supplements of The PCOS System do not do the same thing as the birth control pills, they do something even better! They work to correct the underlying cause of PCOS.
However, you may continue to take your birth control pill while using the Insulite PCOS System - again....just be sure to take it separately from the GlucX supplement.
Without knowing what the other medication maybe, I would rather wait to comment. Often metformin is prescribed for PCOS, but let me know.
I do recommend that you re-visit the website and go through the topics on the left side of the page that apply to you. Also, there is a link at the end of the left column for support that will lead you other sites for information and support. Let me know if I can help further.
