I was talking with my PC (who know that I am on the insulite program) suggested i take another round of clomid since I do not ovulate each month. My eggs all stay the same size none are maturing nor being released. I told him I would like to way my option on taking something natural. With further research, I was told by an herbalist that Damiana Herb works the same as Clomid to help increase ovulation.. Is this true and is this something I can take with the The insulite program?

Hello,
I was not able to find research regarding ovulation induction and damiana or the comparison between clomid and damiana as far as effectiveness. It is commonly used to increase libido in women and men. However, it is important to know that the reason you are not ovulating is due to the hormonal imbalance and that you continue to address the underlying cause of PCOS. If you choose to use the damiana, I don't anticipate any interactions.
You can also use Clomid along with the System.
How long have you been on the PCOS System? How are you doing with the nutrition and exercise changes. What other changes have you had while being on the System?
Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I look forward to hearing more.

I have been on the "Program" for a year. I have had my hormone levels checked and was told everything was good except the fact my body does not mature an egg each month. My doctor wants to put me on my third round of Clomid 50MG (2 pills each day, days 5-9). I would like to try an all natural herb if I could. I don't know enough about natural herbs to research what I should be taking..
On the Insulite program i do fine. I am only taking 1 PCOS pill twice a day because if i take the 2 pills twice a day I have a non-stop menstrual cycle (I went through that for 2 months when I first started) and was told to take only one PCOS tablet. other than that I take everything else like directed. With a pre-natal vitamin and fish oil, red yeast rice, and at night 2 coral calcium pills. My symptoms have gone away from the PCOS and I seem to be more relaxed and feel great. I am 29 years old and my husband and i are still trying to conceive. I just don't know where to look for answers....?

Hello,
Thanks for writing in. You are certainly not the only one in this situation and in your case, what I would recommend is to find a naturopathic doctor in your area that works with fertility and PCOS. You can find one at Naturopathic.org. This is our national website for license elligible naturopathic doctors that will understand how to work with these medications and how to best help you.
I can not make further recommendations outside of the PCOS System since I have not seen you as a patient and do not know your health history.
I hope that this allows you to find someone to help you further choose if there are other options to help you reach your goals.
You have done so well with your symptoms and I do hope that you conceive. If you do choose to add anything, please do not do so without checking with someone with a great knowledge of herbs.
I hope that this helps. Please let me know if I can help further.

Hmmm, this certainly makes it difficult. You can search for naturopathic doctors in your area on Google, etc. However, you will have to be sure that they attended a 4 year Naturopathic College. (Bastyr, NCNM, SCNM or UCONN at Bridgeport). Or you can ask if they are license eligible if the State you are in does not currently license naturopathic physicians.
If this does not pan out, I am not sure where to direct you to. But let me know.

You are correct, Georgia does not currently license naturopathic physicians. However, there are a few ND's there that I went to school with and one that did work with Insulite for a short time. They are located in Columbus. If this is too far, let me know and I can contact them to see who they can recommend for you that may be closer. Otherwise, I will send you the contact information.
I hope that this helps.
