This is my First post!

I am in a relationship for 8 years now. I have been smoking for 9 years up to date. I started having sex at the age of 20. My partner and i have been using safety precautions so that i will not get pregnant. At the age of 23 i got married to him and we continued to use condoms till November 07.

We have been trying ever since this has caused alot on stress between us. We always manage to get through the problems but i have turned out to be such a negative person. I lost my job and making ends meet has become more difficult. My life just seems to go on a spiral down.

I have been taking prenatal vitamin for abt 3 months now and only break out of acne seems appear. I gained 18 kg over 7 years and last year i had been working out and dieting I was able lose abt 16 kg and now my weight is 48. This has been the only thing that has made me feel good.

My period over past 3 years has been irregular at one point i had my period for abt 16 days heavy flow and i couldn't even walk. Now my period delays for abt 3 days every month and has been regular.

I had my blood work taken early last month and today i did an ultrasound when the doctor spoke to me he said my hormone levels were not stable and that it wasn't too bad then he explained to me the scan pictures he told me that i had cysts around my ovary and that this was why i had irregular periods. I have been a hairy person as long as i can remember. And i have been losing my hair.

Is this PCOS? All my thoughts are will i ever be able to have a child. The doctor told me it is usually in the genes. He said that i do not need any medications for now and told me to exercise regularly, eat healthy and visit him 6 months later. He said " who knows you will come in pregnant and i will deliver your baby for you". I get really drepressed when i see pregnant women i feel so happy for them and i start crying like now. I feel so upset i don't have anyone to talk to abt this or any of my problems. I am only 26 and have almost given up on life. What can i do? Is this PCOS? Will i ever bear a child?

Hello PAUL,

Thanks for posting to the PCOS forum. I am not sure what weight loss plan is good for you. It depends on if there are other conditions present and other factors. However, you can check out all of the Insulite Systems at http://insulitelabs.com/. As you will see, we have five different Systems to help met your needs.

If you have PCOS then the PCOS System would be a good fit, if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, then one of our other Systems would be more appropriate.

I hope that this helps. If you need help deciding which of our Systems would be appropriate, please let me know. I am happy to help.

Lastly, please keep in mind that this is not a quick fix and that changes take time. This is a plan that helps you make lifestyle changes that include nutrition and exercise, to support your weight loss goals.

Hello and thanks for writing in!

I am sorry to read that you are struggling with conceiving. It certainly is very suspicious of PCOS. Your symptoms do fit and your doctor can order some tests to further evaluate this possible diagnosis.

As you know, it is not so easy to lose weight but there are things you can do to support weight loss that will help reduce the symptoms and help with the hormone imbalance.

Generally speaking, you will want to reduce your carbohydrate intake gradually by removing any white processed foods, such as breads, pastas, sweets, etc. You should also increase the amount of non-starchy vegetables in the diet. Have some protein with each meal and snack and some healthy fats. A whole foods diet is supportive.

Don't forget the exercise, this is very important in helping address the insulin resistance and building muscle and supporting a healthy metabolism.

In addition, I would also recommend that you check out the Insulite PCOS System. You can read more about our comprehensive, approach to PCOS at http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/.

Because PCOS can cause infertility, we do not know what your chances of conceiving are. However, what I do feel is important to mention is that there are many women with PCOS that have had successful pregnancies. Doing what you can to address the problem of insulin resistance and hormones is going to help support your ability to conceive.

I hope that this helps and you consider the PCOS System. Please let us know if we can help further.

Hi she_max,
So sorry to know about your current situation. Have you gone through DNC?
Your doctor is right you should lose weight and for this follow proper diet and start any physical work.
Do take diet chart form your doctor and start some exercise. Start from walking and jogging if you don't have any equipment at home.
Stop worrying, stuck with your goals and enjoy your life again.
