Dr.
I have some questions, now that i have been on insulite for about 1month and half.
I know that insulite recommends that you stay away from carbs, how much carbs can you have?
What foods can you have? I look at so many foods and there is so many that have carbs. In it. I am so used to eating what i want, it is so hard to find food that me and my family can eat that we will like. What do you recommend?
If you miss some pills when taking the insulite, will it cause you to get your period? I got my period march 6th-11th, and just yesterday i got my period again. I missed some pills yesterday.
There are days that i feel like i am not seeing results, and i just want to call it quits. I don't know what to think, and sometimes i look at food and say to myself oh well i cannot find food that's healthy and i don't have time to eat sometimes during work, it's just so frustrating. What can i do?
Thanks for your help in advance!!
Thank you

Hello Jessica,
Sorry for the delay with this. I did sent out an email to you as well. But will post my reply below.
It is nice to hear from you.
The number of carbs we recommend a day is 60-80 grams from all sources. This would remove many of the grains, pastas, breads, sugary foods, pretzels, crackers, etc. The diet should focus on lean protein, vegetables and healthy fats.
I recommend starting by reducing the servings of carbohydrate foods in your diet and increasing vegetables on your plate for dinner. If you are making foods that are not necessarily the best option for you, then make an extra vegetable for yourself.
When you received your order, you should have received a link to our customer guide that will give much more detailed information on the nutrition changes we recommend. If you did not let me know and I will send it along.
Missing the supplements will not make you have your period again, this can happen with PCOS and with the changes in hormones. What was the date that it started a second time this month? How long did it last? Any other changes? Last month you had two periods as well... I know your periods have been irregular sometimes you have them and other times you need progesterone, how often do you have two in a month? It can be just your body’s response to the changes and it can take some time to balance out. Let me know about the above questions.
How are you doing with exercise?
It is still early on in the process and you have to take it day by day. There are changes happening and even on the bad days, you just have to get back to it. I would also recommend that when you are at work that you have some nuts in a bag to have them available to eat on the run, or when time it tight. This will help when you are not sure what foods to eat. Also, you should prepare cut up vegetables to have in between, and try to make your lunches or meals that you have to eat away from home. Planning is important. Changes take time so be gentle with yourself.
I hope that this helps.

Hello,
I was not diagnosed with PCOS but apparently all the questions that I have answered made me to believe that I do have it. I had one child with the help of chlomid back in 2002 in which I didn't even know that I was pregnant until five months in. Then in 2004 we were suppose to have a set of identical twins that apparently we lost still born. After that, we had a hard time conceiving again and at that point I refused to take any medications or help, then in 2008, I experienced my first miscarriage. Since then, we are having the hardest time conceiving again and the clock is ticking. I currently have been on the PCOS system for about a year maybe going on two and no luck yet. In my last pregnancy I did have gestational diabetes and then after my pregnancy I then was diagnosed with diabetes. Ever since being on the PCOS, it has given me alot of energy and has elevated my sugar levels as for the weight it's still there but I am working harder on that. My periods cycles finally are back on track and then for some reason this month I haven't gotten my menstrual cycle yet but at the same time I am not pregnant.
Please help me regarding this matter.
Thank you

Hello and thanks for writing in for support. I am glad to hear that you are using the System. It sounds like it is helping with energy and with keeping your cycles regular. Has anything changed this last month? It may be just a hiccup in your cycle but depending on weight and glucose levels, this may be impacting your hormone status.
However, you said that your glucose levels are increased with using the System. Is this correct? It would be more unusual to see these levels increase as the System is designed to reduce insulin and glucose levels. Can you tell me more about this pattern? How elevated is your fasting glucose? Have you had any other labs that indicate this? HbA1c? I am wondering if with the diagnosis of diabetes, if you need to use one of the supplements in our Diabetes System to replace the InsulX in the PCOS SYstem.
How have you been doing with the nutrition and exercise components of the System. I understand that you would like to see more (any!!) evidence of weight loss so here are a couple tips that might "kick start" your metabolism. Are you counting carbs? If so, about how many grams of carbs are you eating per day? We suggest gradually decreasing your carb intake to about 60 grams per day. Again, this should be a gradual process to help your body adjust. So depending on how many grams of carbs you are eating, simply decreasing that intake a little bit may help with weight loss. I can assist with this by assessing your diet if you provide me with a detailed diet diary.
Another trick is to increase your exercise by 15 minutes per day that you exercise, and to increase the intensity and variety of your exercise. If you have been doing the same exercise routine for a long time, you will need to change your exercise as your body has become habituated to it. Try to do an entirely different physical activity for 1-2 of your exercise days, such as swimming, dancing, biking, etc. To increase the intensity of your walking, try adding wrist and/or ankle weights.
One final tip is to engage in some gentle physical activity after you eat. For instance, take a 10-15 minute walk after dinner. This helps with glucose disposal.
I look forward to hearing back from.
