Is it bad to drink coffee while on this?>
Hi Maddie,
This is a good question. Most of us wake up to the smell of coffee brewing in the kitchen. While coffee has its drawbacks (e.g. it is addictive, dehydrating, causes fatigue and blood sugar swings, and it raises the stress hormone cortisol), many people need it to rise and shine.
One cup of coffee in the morning is acceptable. However, be sure you eat protein and fat with that morning cup of Joe! Try stevia as your sweetener. One cup per day is enough: Resist the temptation to drink coffee all morning long or even as an afternoon “treat.”
Now with that being said, there is some newer research that suggests that coffee may have some beneficial effects on insulin and glucose. So for now, I would still limit intake of coffee but you can still enjoy a cup.
Water intake will be important as well. Since one of the supplements is high in fiber, you will need to increase your water intake. Be sure that you are drinking 8- 8 ounce glasses a day.
Maddie, let me know if you have any additional questions.
