I get terrible pains on my left side either because of PCOS or endo. When I do excercise my entire abdomen gets terrible terrible pain (and its not muscular pain that I do get in my calves etc). What do I do? I get terrible headache too. What do I do? I am afraid to excercise. I am afraid of the pain because it makes me cuddle up on the sofa and not be able to things for atleast 2-3 days atleast. What are my options. Walking is not always an option for personal reasons but has been my only excercise if any. Is it okay not to excercise?

Hi Maddie,
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing so much pain. I am a little confused however, have you been diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS? Do these pains happen even with walking? What types of exercise will cause the pain? Are you pushing yourself too much? Have you discussed them with your doctor? It is hard to say why this is happening but these questions among others can help your doctor.
We do know that both endometriosis and ovarian cysts can cause abdominal pain of differing levels for women.
Regarding headaches, have you been told that your blood pressure is elevated. This can cause headaches and can increase with exercise. This is important to have checked.
Exercise is important unless there are good reasons why you should not. Having a physical exam from a doctor can help them determine why the pains you are having may be associated with exercise. If it turns out that walking is the exercise that your doctor recommends and does not cause pain, then you should start walking more. I can be very helpful in addressing conditions that are related to insulin resistance, such as PCOS.
It will be important to try to find out why you are having these symptoms with exercise. I am sorry that I can't be more helpful with this Maddie, as I do not have the information or the ability to determine the cause at this time.
I would recommend that you contact your doctor and see if they can help with this. Please keep us posted.
