Hello, I am 32, actively-work out 3-4X's per week, not over active - not overweight... 5-4" @ 127lbs
Only 1-natural period in 2 years after 13 years on BC
I do however have a few random hairs that grow on my chest/chin/cheeks ...and last 6 months breaking out in moderate acne on my cheeks:mad:.
Also, I have random brown spots showing up on my body--one on my face and one on my forearm!--finally this web-site advised a symptom! aha!

Diagnosed about 4 months ago with PCOS
I have had to take Prometrium to induce periods, max Clomid I took thus far is100mg & it did nada! and I HATE taking drugs...so it was hard for me  They now want me on a steriod!! with Clomid and I am not thrilled to say the least.
All that said, will this program work for me even if I am not overweight...I do not seem to fit into the "majority" and do not see much addressed on this in the website.
Thank you in advance for your reply!

Hello and thanks for writing in!

First, sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. The medical name for the dark skin patches is acanthosis nigricans for those that choose to read this. It is often a sign of insulin resistance. Of course, I can't be sure that this is what you are experiencing but it is not uncommon for women with PCOS, diabetes or pre-diabetes to experience.

You do not have to be overweight to have PCOS. I know that the website can leave that impression. What I have found is that there is nothing typical when it comes to PCOS. Some women have one symptom and some have all. It seems to be a matter of where one falls on the spectrum of PCOS.

We hear from many women with PCOS who are not overweight: in fact, some people say that about 50% of women with PCOS are thin. As you probably know from your own research and also from our website, the underlying cause of PCOS seems to be insulin resistance. The medical community is divided on whether lean women with PCOS have the same degree of insulin resistance as overweight women with PCOS. However, regardless of their weight, most women with PCOS do seem to have some sort of insulin-glucose dysregulation. Studies show that thin women with PCOS secrete more insulin than thin women without PCOS. Furthermore, the ovaries in women with PCOS seem to be much more sensitive to insulin's effects than women without PCOS, regardless of weight. This is probably why even lean women seem to benefit from using the Insulite PCOS System.

With that said, the short answer is yes, I do feel that the PCOS System can still work for you.

I hope that this helps. Please feel free to contact me at any time. I am here to help.
