I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid in December 2008, in September 2009 I was diasnosed with PCOS and prescribed 1500mg of metformin. Prior to both diagnoses I was and still occasionally experience dizziness upon standing when I've been sitting for a period of time.

When I stand up it feels like I'm getting light headded, I see bright spots, and it feels like something is draining from the top of my head down. I thought it might be sinus issues, but over the counter sinus meds are not helping. I've had some relief since changing my diet, exercising 6 days a week, and the metformin has helped some.

I just got my first 30 day supply of the insulite system and I've been struggling with getting into a good routine of taking the supplements. I'm also struggling with letting go of the carbs, i.e. bread, crackers, sugar, and cheese.

I was just wondering if anyone else has similar symptom of dizziness upon standing, and what routine have you implemented for taking the supplements.

Hi and thanks for writing in. I just wanted to comment briefly on your post.

With the lightheaded feeling, spots that you see, you should contact your doctor. If it is from low blood sugar, then your medication can be reduced. Also, you may have episodes of hypoglycemia, that may be helped with eating. Be sure that you are eating every couple of hours to keep your glucose levels stable.

Since you have started the System, have you noticed that this has increased?

Also, you can ask to have your blood pressure taken when sitting and again after standing as this change can also cause dizziness.

Again, this is something I would mention to your doctor to be sure that medication doses are appropriate and that if any further tests are needed to determine, how your glucose responds and how your blood pressure responds.

In the meantime, be sure that you are drinking 2-3 liters of water and eating small meals and snacks throughout the day.

Lastly, here is a dosing schedule:

- 1/2 hour before breakfast: PCOS + - 2 caps
- With breakfast: InsulX - 2 caps and RejuvenX - 2 caps
- Between breakfast and lunch: GlucX - 6 caps
- With Lunch: InsulX - 2 caps and RejuvenX - 2 caps
- Between lunch and dinner: PCOS + - 2 caps
- After dinner/before bed: GlucX - 6 caps

If you forget to take any of the supplements with breakfast or lunch, you can take that dose with dinner.

As for the in between times (between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner), when you are eating a snack, just be sure to take the GlucX and the PCOS+ away from food by an hour, if possible.

Some of the pills need to be taken without food for a few reasons. The GlucX should be taken alone because as a high fiber supplement, it could theoretically interfere with the absorption of other substances taken at the same time. You wouldn't want to take it with food because it could impede the absorption of nutrients from the food, and the same with taking other supplements and medications with the GlucX.

The PCOS+ should be taken away from food because some of the herbs in that product are better absorbed on an empty stomach. That is just the nature of its ingredients.

Let me know how this works for you.
