I was wondering since I have had a complete hysterectomy will the program help me. I was misdiagnosed for years and now facing the ravages of insulin resistance but do not have a uterus, tubes or ovaries (6 yrs ago). Technically I still have PCOS, I have a real hard time losing weight, I'm on HRT as well. This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone trying to help with this insidious disease, instead of absent periods I was an anovulatory bleeder. I think before I commit to this I would like to know if it will work on me if I have no "Ovaries"/period to speak of?

Hello and thanks for writing in with your question.

The PCOS System can still help you. What is important to consider are the symptoms you currently have. If you still have signs of androgen excess such as excess facial and body hair and acne, then the PCOS System would be appropriate.

The PCOS system will decrease circulating testosterone levels to reverse unwanted hair growth and acne. It also increases sex hormone-binding globulin, which decreases free-floating testosterone and estrone, and supports liver function by aiding detoxification pathways.

In addition, hormones are produced in several places in the body: the ovaries, the adrenal glands, and even in fat cells! Simply removing the uterus, cervix and ovaries may have some effect on the hormone imbalance, but not necessarily.

We have several customers who have had hysterectomies using the Insulite PCOS System.

If you do not have symptoms of androgen excess and struggle primarily with the insulin resistance and symptoms that include weight gain (or difficulty losing as you mentioned), skin tags, dark skin patches, family history of diabetes or heart disease, then the Excess Weight System or the original Insulite System might be more appropriate.

I hope that this helps. Please feel free to write in at any time.

I am still having the problems with the hair, which is coming back and the weight issues among other things. I think I will give this a try. Thank you so much...
