I have been taking Janumet for over a year now for my PCOS. And I have also been taking Insulite for almost 10 months. I have tried to stop taking the Janumet a couple times throught the year. However, after about 3 weeks of being off the medication, I gain 5+ lbs. back and get acne. This has been so even with following your diet. So I have to go back on the medication. The only changes I've noticed with both meds is that my periods are more regular. However, my weight maintains the same (5'3" 160lbs - the same for years on all meds). This has been very expensive for me as I have to pay full price for both the Jan/Insulite. I don't know what to do. The symptoms I have are period problems, weight gain, facial hair and acne. How much longer do I have to be on Insulite before I give up? This has been very discouraging since I really believed your products would work.

Hello,

I am glad that you that you wrote in. I can understand your frustration and hesitancy to continue. However, having a more regular period is a good sign that the System is working, although, I understand that you are also using Janumet.

Have you had any changes in the facial hair and acne during this time?

Can you give me an idea of what you typically eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks? This will help me to figure out what may be preventing you from losing weight.

Have you been exercising regularly (5 days/week) and what is the program you are following at this time?

Answers to these questions will help me to help you and determine what might be going on and also if any additional suggestions would be useful.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Facial hair has remained the same; it has not decreased. With the medication, I have no acne. Without, I get a few pimples. I usually eat eggs with veggies and coffee w/ creamer in the am. I snack on almonds, walnuts, or pecans during day. Lunch and dinner, I have chicken, turkey or beef with vegetables and fruit. Before bed I have greek yogurt with fruit. I do not have any kind or bread, soft drinks, fruit juice, sugar or desserts. I also have coffe in the pm. I have been using splenda in yogurt and coffee, but I have stopped for about 3 weeks. I go to the gym 4 days/wk. I use elliptical machine 30 min, rower 10 min, treadmill 20 min and do weights 2xs week. I wear heart rate monitor and it reads that I burn 900 calories (I suppose these are energy calories not fat calories). With or without meds I have plenty of energy. I don't feel tired. I feel well. I just can't keep spending all this money. I feel like I'm just throwing money away. I'm making so many sacrifices with no show. I feel like people think I'm lying about all the sacrifices I'm making because I have nothing to show for it.
