Hi. I've read that the system works differently for everyone, but I was wondering if most people have their acne clear up completely while going through the system. I've been on the system for almost 2 months. So far I've had one cycle which thankfully was 46 days instead of the normal 60-100days. However, my acne is still exactly the same. Is it possible that I will need to have many regular cycles before my face will clear? What have other people experienced with skin problems while starting the system?

Hi there, thanks for checking in about your experience on the Insulite PCOS System. That's great that your menstrual cycle is already responding and getting a bit more normalized! It is not unusual that you have had one symptom improve (menses) while another stays the same (acne). The acne in PCOS is caused by hormonal imbalance, specifically elevated androgens (male hormones, like testosterone or DHEA). It can take several months for hormones to balance and androgens to reduce. Certainly I would give it another 1-2 months at a minimum to look for more profound changes in your symptoms, including the acne.

Try adding 1/4 cup of pumpkin seeds to your daily diet (I like them raw- that is, unroasted- and salted. You can find these in bulk bins at health food stores.). Also, make sure to eat plenty of foods that are good for the liver. This includes dandelion greens, beets, artichokes, and dark leafy greens (spinach, kale, chard). Pumpkin seeds help reduce active testosterone, and supporting the liver is important b/c the liver helps the body properly excrete hormones.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Have you been reducing carbohydrate intake as suggested in the Insulite Guide? How are you doing with the exercise component? These lifestyle factors will help regulate your period and reduce acne, as well as other PCOS symptoms, because reversing insulin resistance is the key to improving PCOS!
Take care and keep in touch.

Thank you for the advice. My face actually started to clear up this week, about a week after my period ended, so I'm hoping it was just hormonal... hopefully in the future it will stay clear and the post acne marks will be able to go away! I do eat those foods, but probably not often enough, so I will try to encorporate them more into my diet. I'm also working very hard at lowering carb intake, some days are more successful than others, but on good eating days I feel better. I'm trying to exercise more often as well.

Is it okay to still take a multi-vitamin while on the system? I was taking Garden of Life vitamins on a regular basis to begin with, but was off them for my first two months of the system because I couldn't afford to purchase both. I recently purchased a bottle of vitamins again, so I was wondering if it was okay to take both.

Here is my plan to get them all in...

2 PCOS 1/2 before breakfast
1 Vitamin with breakfast
3 GlucX between breakfast and lunch
2 Rejuvx and 2 insulx with lunch
2 PCOS between lunch and dinner
2 Rejuvx and 2 insulx with dinner
3 GlucX after dinner/before bed

Is that they way I should be taking the supplements?

Thanks!:)

Yes, that schedule is perfect. And yes, you can certainly take a multivitamin along with the Insulite PCOS System. Let me know if you need any more support. I can provide you with recipes and menu ideas and that kind of thing, or I'm happy just to be a cheerleader for you!
