I'm new to forums of any kind, to PCOS and to fertility treatment.... In Sept of this year I had confirmed by a private consultant that I have PCOS, which was a complete shock. I have a daughter who is nearly 3.5 years old, conceived within 2 months of coming off the pill-completely normal pregnancy and birth.
Came of the pill for baby no 2 last November and decided to properly start trying in the Spring (shouldn't have planned it!!!). During that time periods became further and further apart-up to 120 days apart. GP wouldn't investigate as I had not been trying for a year, had I known what I know now I would have gone private straight away as I already have a child I did not quailfy for NHS fertility treatment.
Since Sept I have been taking 850mg of Metformin twice daily, I have also had one cycle of Clomid at 50mg and in the middle of my second cycle of Clomid at 100mg. I have been seeing an acupuncturist who has helped me mentally and I am also in the middle of a course of CBT counselling. Had a Follicle tracking scan last Tues which showed the dominant follicle measuring at 21mm, my consultant informed me it could erupt at any time.

Since then I have not had any mucus and just neg ovulation kits, I am now thinking that I have not ovulated?? Would I have ovulated by now, today is CD19??? Can't stop thinking about it......any advice would grately be appreciated.

Dear Clogger,

Welcome to the forum and for writing in! I am sorry to heat about your recent diagnosis and trouble conceiving.

As you will see, you are certainly not alone in this and there is some great support from the women that are on the forum.

If the scan showed that the follicle was close to releasing, you probably would have by now. Sometimes, with the use of clomid, ovulation may be delayed a few days. Every women can be different and may ovulate as late CD 20-23.

Have you noticed any change in cervical mucus or temperature since you wrote in? What about any pains in the ovary?

I know that this may not answer your question but it is really difficult to know what is going on. Ovulation tests may not be accurate, you may ovulate later if you ovulate.... there are many factors to consider.

Let us know how things are going and if there is anything that we can help with.
